Southbound I-35 from U.S. 69 near Lamoni to the Iowa/Missouri state line to close Sept. 18 for repairs #iatraffic

CHARITON, Iowa – Sept. 16, 2015 – Portland cement concrete patching work on southbound Interstate 35 from U.S. 69 (exit 4) near Lamoni to the Iowa/Missouri state line requires closing the roadway to traffic from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Chariton construction office. 

Traffic will be directed onto a signed detour around the work zone by exiting at Lamoni (exit 4), traveling south on U.S. 69, and getting back onto I-35 at the Iowa/Missouri state line.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
