Lane and ramp closures on eastbound U.S. 30 at U.S. 69/South Duff Avenue in Ames begin May 9 #iatraffic
JEFFERSON, Iowa – May 4, 2016 – Bridge deck overlay work on the U.S. 30 bridge over U.S. 69/South Duff Avenue in Ames will require restricting eastbound U.S. 30 traffic to one lane and closing the southbound U.S. 69/South Duff to eastbound U.S. 30 on-ramp beginning 7 a.m. Monday, May 9, until Friday, July 1, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Jefferson construction office.
Motorists on U.S. 69/South Duff Avenue wanting to travel east on U.S. 30 will be detoured to Southeast 16th Street, to South Dayton Avenue, and then onto U.S. 30 (see map).
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
