Westbound U.S. 30 exit ramp to northbound I-380 in Cedar Rapids closed this weekend #iatraffic

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – June 24, 2016 – Bridge repair work on northbound Interstate 380 requires closing the westbound U.S. 30 exit ramp to northbound I-380 from 8 p.m. Friday, June 24, until 6 a.m. Monday, June 27, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Cedar Rapids construction office.

This will be the fourth and final weekend closure. Traffic on westbound U.S. 30 will be detoured to Iowa 13/U.S. 151, to Iowa 100/Collins Road, and then to I-380.

Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during the closures. News releases will be issued to announce when the ramp will be closed.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
