Proposed bridge replacement on U.S. 71 in Clay County to be discussed Sept. 29 in Spencer


AMES, Iowa – Sept. 19, 2016 – The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting Thursday, Sept. 29, to discuss the proposed bridge replacement on U.S. 71 over Prairie Creek, 1.4 miles north of Clay County Road B-40.

Traffic would be detoured during construction using 360th Street and Clay County roads B-40 and M-38.

All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. at the Spencer City Hall, 418 Second Ave. W., in Spencer. The meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format. Iowa DOT staff will be present to informally discuss the proposed improvement. No formal presentation will be made.

The meeting space is accessible for persons with disabilities. However, if you require special accommodations at the meeting, please notify the Iowa DOT contact listed below by Sept. 26.
