Public input requested for proposed bridge replacement on Iowa 3 in Humboldt County
AMES, Iowa – Dec. 15, 2016 – The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input on the proposed bridge replacement over the East Fork of the Des Moines River on Iowa 3, 1.8 miles east of U.S. 169.
The proposed project provides for replacing an existing 323-by-28 foot steel girder bridge with a 364-by-44-foot pretensioned, prestressed concrete beam bridge. New bridge approaches will be constructed, the guardrail will be replaced and the shoulders would be paved 20 feet beyond the ends of the guardrail.
Through traffic on Iowa 3 would be detoured during construction using U.S 169 and Humboldt County roads C-26 and P-63. For more information, see the website listed below.
