Lane closures on Iowa 3 in Waverly begin April 3 #iatraffic

MASON CITY, Iowa – March 29, 2017 – The first phase of a two-year reconstruction project on Iowa 3 from 20th Avenue to Eighth Street East in Waverly will begin Monday morning, April 3, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mason City construction office.

Traffic impacts

  • Through traffic on Iowa 3 will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the work zone from Second Street Southwest to Second Street Southeast.
  • Motorists will not be able to make left-hand turns within the work zone and will need to turn before or after the work zone to access businesses.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
