Closure of southbound I-35 entrance ramp from Corporate Woods Drive in Ankeny begins April 30 #iatraffic

GRIMES, Iowa – April 25, 2017 – Repair work on the Union Pacific Railroad bridge approach requires closing the southbound Interstate 35 entrance ramp from Corporate Woods Drive in Ankeny beginning Sunday night, April 30, until the end of June 2017, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Grimes construction office.

Traffic impacts

  • Motorists wanting to use the southbound I-35 entrance ramp at Corporate Woods Drive will be detoured around the work zone by taking Northeast 66th Avenue and then turning onto Northeast 14th Street to reach southbound I-35.
  • Traffic on southbound I-35 will be shifted around the work area and three lanes of interstate traffic will be maintained during daytime hours.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
