Northbound I-35 off-ramp to eastbound U.S. 30 near Ames closes at 6 a.m. Sept. 19 #iatraffic

JEFFERSON, Iowa – Sept. 13, 2017 – Work continues on the Interstate 35/U.S. 30 interchange project near Ames and now requires closing the northbound I-35 off-ramp to eastbound U.S. 30 (exit 111A) at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, for up to a month and a half, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Jefferson construction office.

Motorists wanting to travel east on U.S. 30 from northbound I-35 will need to exit at the westbound U.S. 30 off-ramp (exit 111B), then travel west and exit at Dayton Avenue (exit 150), and then turn south onto South Dayton Avenue and travel south to the eastbound U.S. 30 on-ramp heading east.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
