Closure of Cedar County Road X-40 bridge over I-80 in Cedar County begins March 19 #iatraffic

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – March 16, 2018 – A construction project to re-overlay the bridge deck of the Cedar County Road X-40 bridge over Interstate 80 in Cedar County will require closing the bridge to traffic beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, March 19, until early May, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Cedar Rapids construction office.

During this closure, traffic will be detoured to the adjacent interchanges at Cedar County roads X-30 and X-46.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
