AMES, Iowa – April 4, 2018 – The Iowa Department of Transportation invites media to attend a briefing on the reconstruction of the interchange on Interstate 35 at First Street in Ankeny.
Where: Ankeny Fire Station, 120 NW Ash
When: April 11, 9 a.m.
The three-year, $50 million project will transform the way nearly 60,000 travelers per day move through the area, with the construction of a diverging diamond interchange.
Keeping travelers moving safely through the work area is a priority and will take the coordinated effort of not only the Iowa DOT and its construction partners, but state and local law enforcement, emergency services, and towing companies.
At this meeting, Iowa DOT staff will give an overview of the project and its schedule, provide contact information for future media stories, and explain why traffic incident management is important.
Following the media briefing, Iowa DOT and local emergency response representatives will be available for interviews about the planning efforts that will allow traffic to flow smoothly through three years of construction.
