Resurfacing work on U.S. 65 between 6th and 18th streets in Mason City begins April 23 #iatraffic
MASON CITY, Iowa – April 20, 2018 – A project to resurface the pavement on U.S. 65 between 6th Street and 18th Street in Mason City begins at 7:30 a.m. Monday morning, April 23, and will be completed by late September 2018, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mason City construction office.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction throughout the project. Initial work includes removing the traffic signals at Ninth Street.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
