Road closure on Iowa 3 near 12th Street NW in Waverly begins April 30 #iatraffic

MASON CITY, Iowa – April 26, 2018 – Work continues on the Iowa 3 reconstruction project in Waverly. Replacement of the railroad crossing on Iowa 3 near 12th Street NW will require closing roadway to traffic beginning Monday morning, April 30, until Friday, May 18, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mason City construction office.

During this closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone using 10th Street SW and 4th Street SW.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
