PANORA, Iowa – June 7, 2018 – Work to replace the corrugated metal pipe at the intersection of Iowa 44 and Yellow Avenue east of Panora in Guthrie County will require closing the roadway to traffic at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 14th, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s De Soto maintenance garage.
The Iowa DOT hopes to have the work completed and roadway opened by the end of the day on June 14. Motorists will want to choose an alternate route during this project.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
