MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – July 23, 2018 – A road construction project on Jasper County Road F-17 between Iowa 330 and Jasper County Road S-52 near Mingo will require closing the roadway to traffic in both directions from Thursday, July 26, until approximately Thursday, Aug. 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Marshalltown construction office.
The closure is part of the larger U.S. 65/Iowa 330/Jasper County Road F-17 interchange construction project. This portion of the project will connect Jasper County Road F-17 to the new interchange.
During this closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone using Jasper County Road S-52, Interstate-80, and U.S. 65/Iowa 330.
Please note: On Wednesday, July 25, RAGBRAI riders will also be using Jasper County Road S-52. Motorists are urged to find an alternative route that day.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
