Alternating lane closures on westbound I-280 over eastbound I-80 in Scott County begin Aug. 13

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Aug. 6, 2018 – A bridge deck overlay project on westbound Interstate 280 over eastbound I-80 in Scott County will require alternating lane closures beginning Monday, Aug. 13, until Tuesday, Sept. 25, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Davenport construction office.

During this project, an 11-foot lane width restriction will be in place as well as a 75-foot length restriction. A reduced speed limit of 45 mph will also be in effect.

Hawkeye Paving Corp was awarded this $254,602 project.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
