Iowa 57 between Franklin and Washington streets to close Aug. 13 for utility work

MASON CITY, Iowa – Aug. 8, 2018 – Water line installation work under Iowa 57 in Cedar Falls will require closing the roadway to traffic between Franklin and Washington streets from 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, until 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 2 Office.

Traffic will be detoured around the work zone using Franklin Street, West Second Street, and Washington Street.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
