North- and southbound ramps at I-35 and Cerro Gordo County Road B-20 (exit 197) near Clear Lake will be closed intermittently on Aug. 23

MASON CITY, Iowa – Aug. 21, 2018 – Road construction work on the north- and southbound ramps at Interstate 35 and Cerro Gordo County Road B-20 (exit 197) near Clear Lake will require closing the ramps intermittently from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mason City construction office.

The north- and southbound ramps will not be closed at the same time.

During the closure for northbound traffic, drivers will use the Iowa 9 interchange (exit 203), travel south on I-35, and exit at Cerro Gordo County Road B-20 (exit 197). Southbound traffic will travel to Iowa 122 (exit 194), then travel north on I-35 to Cerro Gordo County Road B-20 (exit 197).

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
