Ramp changes on northbound U.S. 63 ramp to northbound U.S. 218 in Waterloo will begin Tuesday

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – Oct. 29, 2018 –  Construction work to replace a storm sewer will impact traffic traveling from northbound U.S. 63 to northbound U.S. 218 beginning Tuesday, Oct. 30, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.

The four-day project will cause traffic to be detoured to Westfield Avenue and then Fletcher Avenue to access the northbound collector road to northbound U.S. 218.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
