Iowa Transportation Commission approves purchase of 91 new vehicles for Iowa transit systems


AMES, Iowa – Dec.11, 2018 – The Iowa Transportation Commission today approved $7 million in funding for 91 new rural public transit vehicles that will replace vehicles past their useful life.  Funds are granted through the Federal Transit Administration’s Bus and Bus Facilities Formula and Discretionary Programs. These vehicles were part of the Iowa Public Transit Vehicle Replacement Project. Vehicle replacement projects were approved for 18 different public transit systems.
