Iowa 175 west of Morrison to close April 1 for bridge replacement

MORRISON, Iowa – March 25, 2019 – A bridge replacement project on the Iowa 175 bridge on the west side of Morrison requires closing the roadway to traffic between Grundy County Road T-47, between Grundy Center and Morrison, and Grundy County Road T-53, in Morrison, from 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, until Friday, Aug. 30, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Marshalltown construction office.  

During this closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone (see map) using Iowa 14, Grundy County Road D-35, and Grundy County Road T-53. 

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
