Iowa 415 at 66th Avenue near Saylorville open to traffic Thursday morning

GRIMES, Iowa – Dec. 17, 2019 – The contractor will be opening 66th Avenue and have all lanes open on Iowa 415 near Saylorville this Thursday morning, Dec. 19, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Grimes construction office. The traffic signals at the interchange of Iowa 415 and 66th Avenue are also scheduled to be activated on Thursday morning.

This construction project will resume in the spring when the contractor will need to temporarily close 66th Avenue east of Iowa 415 to traffic in order to finish asphalt paving work.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
