U.S. 65 between Cerro Gordo County Roads B-55 and B-60 near Rockwell to close March 31 for bridge replacement project
MASON CITY, Iowa – March 19, 2020 – A project to replace three bridges on U.S. 65 over East Branch Beaverdam Creek north of Cerro Gordo County Road B-60 will require closing the roadway to traffic from Tuesday, March 31, until November 2020, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mason City construction office.
During this closure, traffic will be detoured around the construction zone using Cerro Gordo County Road B-43 (210th Street), Cerro Gordo County Road S-34 (Lark Avenue), Cerro Gordo County Road B-60 (150th Street), and U.S. 65.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
