Lane shift on U.S. 30 near Nevada begins Wednesday, April 29
JEFFERSON, Iowa – April 21, 2020 – A project to replace concrete pavement on U.S. 30 near Nevada will require shifting westbound U.S. 30 traffic onto one of the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 between 610th Street and the 11th Street overhead bridge in a head-to-head traffic pattern starting on Wednesday, April 29, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Jefferson construction office.
During this stage of the project, there will be no access to or from U.S. 30 for South Sixth Street or the north portion of Story County Road S-14. The south portion of Story County Road S-14 will have access only for eastbound U.S. 30 traffic.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
