Temporary closure on eastbound I-80 at Ireland Avenue Northwest (exit 237) near Tiffin scheduled for Monday, June 29
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – June 26, 2020 – Work to repair pavement settling which occurred after the installation of pipe under all lanes of Interstate 80 at Ireland Avenue Northwest (exit 237) near Tiffin requires restricting motorists to one lane on eastbound I-80 at mile marker 237 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 29, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 6 Office.
Eastbound I-80 at Ireland Avenue Northwest (exit 237) will be completely closed to traffic from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Monday, June 29. Traffic will follow a marked detour route from eastbound I-80 (exit 237) onto Ireland Avenue Northwest, then back onto eastbound I-80. Drivers should anticipate delays, and should consider an alternative route, if possible.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
