Temporary stop signs to be placed at the intersection of the northbound I-35 ramps and U.S. 18 near Clear Lake on June 8
MASON CITY, Iowa – June 5, 2020 – Stop signs will be placed at the intersection of the northbound Interstate 35 on and off-ramps and U.S. 18 near Clear Lake on Monday morning, June 8, weather permitting, so a utility company can run power lines to the recently installed traffic lights, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mason City construction office.
The temporary stop signs are to be in place for two days and then the traffic lights will flash red while they are being programmed. Motorists should expect delays during peak traffic times.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
