U.S. 65 bridges over Spring Creek and Squaw Creek in Franklin County to reopen Friday

MASON CITY, Iowa – Oct. 15, 2020 – The bridges on U.S. 65 over Spring Creek and Squaw Creek in and near Hampton are scheduled to reopen at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mason City construction office. Detour signs and barricades will be removed during mid-morning hours and travel patterns along U.S. 65 will return to normal for north- and south bound traffic.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
