One southbound lane on new Iowa 13 alignment now open
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Nov. 23, 2020 – The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Cedar Rapids construction office announces that Iowa 13 in Linn County has opened one southbound lane on the new alignment today, Nov. 23. All crossovers and county road intersections are also reopened. Work will continue with the goal of having both north- and southbound lanes restored to two lanes in both directions by mid-December.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
