AMES, Iowa – March 19, 2021 – The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input for a proposed project on U.S. 71 from Okoboji Grove Road in Arnolds Park to East View Avenue in Okoboji.
The project includes removing and replacing the existing pavement. Many of the existing sidewalks will be replaced. The existing decorative lighting throughout the project corridor will be used as constructed.
This project is currently programmed for Fiscal Year 2023.
Construction impacting traffic will not be allowed between Memorial Day and Labor Day. U.S. 71 will be detoured during construction using Iowa 86 and Iowa 9. For more information, see the website listed below.

Description: The study team will deliver a presentation to describe the proposed project, followed by a live question and answer session with the project team. Questions submitted can only be typed into the chat box and will be read by the moderator and answered by the project team.

Description: Experience a self-guided tour of the proposed project and submit comments and questions at any time during the comment period.
