Eastbound I-80 entrance ramp (exit 249) in Johnson County to temporarily close Monday, April 4

DAVENPORT, Iowa – March 25, 2022 – Road construction work at the Interstate 80/Herbert Hoover Highway interchange in Johnson County will require closing the eastbound I-80 entrance ramp (exit 249) from 6 a.m. Monday, April 4 to Tuesday, Nov. 15, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Davenport construction office. 

During this closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone (see map) by traveling on westbound I-80 to Iowa 1, and then turning onto eastbound I-80 (exit 246). 

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
