Northbound on-ramp on Iowa 27/U.S. 218 interchange south of Donnellson to close Monday, April 25

FAIRFIELD, Iowa – April 15, 2022 – Construction work to widen the U.S. 218 on-ramp onto northbound Iowa 27/U.S. 218 will require closing the on-ramp beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, April 25. The on-ramp closure will last for the duration of the project, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Fairfield construction office.

Northbound traffic will be detoured onto northbound Business U.S. 218 (180th Avenue) then onto eastbound Iowa 2 to access the Iowa 27/U.S. 218 interchange in Donnellson (see map).

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
