Nighttime lane closures on Iowa 12/Gordon Drive east of the Gordon Drive viaduct begin Monday night, June 13

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – June 6, 2022 – A hot-mix asphalt resurfacing project on Iowa 12/Gordon Drive, east of the Gordon Drive viaduct, will require nighttime lane closures beginning on Monday night, June 13, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 office.

Nighttime lane closures will occur Mondays through Fridays from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. There will be no lane closure restrictions on Saturdays and Sundays.

The $3 million project was awarded to Knife River Midwest LLC of Sioux City. The expected completion date for this project is Friday, Sept. 9.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
