Update: Lane closures on westbound U.S. 20 bridge over Black Hawk Creek west of U.S. 63 in Black Hawk County to begin Monday, July 25
NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – July 14, 2022 – A bridge deck joint repair project on the westbound U.S. 20 bridge over Black Hawk Creek 0.7 miles west of U.S. 63 in Black Hawk County will require reducing traffic to one lane using temporary barrier rail in the work zone beginning on Monday, July 25, until early September, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
