Overnight Lane closures on eastbound U.S. 20 at Lakeport Road in Sioux City begin on Wednesday, Nov. 1
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Oct. 30, 2023 – If you travel on eastbound U.S. 20 in Sioux City you need to be aware of a construction project that may slow down your trip.
Beginning at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, construction crews will close eastbound U.S. 20 at Lakeport Road to accommodate an emergency bridge repair project. Traffic will be rerouted onto the interchange ramps during the closure. Construction crews will reopen eastbound U.S. 20 on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 5a.m. weather permitting (see map).
If the work is not complete by the morning of Thursday, Nov. 2, the process will be repeated Thursday evening.
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
