Intermittent Lane Closures on U.S. 63 between U.S. 6 and Tama

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – March 26, 2024 – If you drive on U.S. 63 between U.S. 6 and Tama you need to be aware of intermittent lane and shoulder closures that may impact your trip.

The intermittent lane closures are for the grading work in preparation of new right-turn and climbing lanes. In mid-May, crews will fully close this section of the road so pavement overlaying work can occur.

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
