Reconstruction work on Iowa 281 in Fairbank resumes on March 25
FAIRBANK, Iowa – March 11, 2024 – Reconstruction work on Iowa 281 in Fairbank will resume on March 25, weather permitting, according to the Iowa DOT Manchester construction office.
You will follow the same marked detour route that was in place last year on Buchanan County Road C-57 as well as a local detour on East Main Street, to travel around the work zone. Work is anticipated to be completed by June 1.
Grove Street will be closed from 4th Street to the railroad crossing, which is the final stage of the total reconstruction. Asphalt pavement resurfacing will take place on West Main Street, but traffic will be maintained during this part of the project.
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
