Stage 3 of the U.S. 71 Lakes reconstruction project begins on Monday, March 11
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – March 4, 2024 – If you’re traveling on U.S. 71 near Arnolds Park and Okoboji on Monday, March 11 you need to be aware of construction work that may slow down your trip.
Beginning on Monday, March 11, weather permitting, crews will close the northbound lane of U.S. 71 from Broadway Street through Ackley Street in Arnolds Park to accommodate the pavement replacement. If you are driving north on U.S. 71 you will be routed around the work zone using Broadway, Iowa, and Ackley streets.
Stakeout Road at U.S. 71 will be closed to accommodate northbound U.S. 71 reconstruction work from Sanborn Avenue through Stakeout Road in Okoboji, weather permitting.
Through traffic on U.S. 71 will use Iowa 86 and Iowa 9. Access to all businesses along U.S. 71 will be maintained during this project.
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
