Update: Iowa 92 between U.S. 218/Iowa 27 near Ainsworth and Louisa County Road X-17 in Louisa County to close on Monday, March 18

FAIRFIELD, Iowa – March 11, 2024 – If you travel on Iowa 92 between U.S. 218/Iowa 27 and Louisa County Road X-17 you need to be aware of an upcoming road construction project that may impact your trip.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 18 until late October, weather permitting, Iowa 92 will be closed so crews can grade the roadway in preparation for concrete pavement.

While the roadway is closed, you will follow marked detour routes using U.S. 218/Iowa 27 to Washington/Louisa County Road G-36/220th Street and Louisa County Road X-17. Access to private properties within the work zone will be maintained during this project.

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
