Watch for lane closures on U.S. 218 near Janesville starting April 8
NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – March 27, 2024 – If you drive on U.S. 218 near Janesville in Bremer County, you need to be aware of a grading project that may impact your trip.
Grading work is set to begin Monday, April 8, weather permitting, from the Cedar River in Janesville to Iowa 116 in Waverly. This work is part of the relocation of U.S. 218 in Bremer County for the new interchange at 260th Street. Watch for intermittent lane closures on U.S. 218 in the area.
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
