Westbound I-80 entrance ramp at 1st Avenue (exit 242) in Coralville set to close On Tuesday, April 2

DAVENPORT, Iowa – March 21, 2024 – If you drive on westbound Interstate 80 in Coralville you need to be aware of a construction project for the new I-80 and 1st Avenue interchange that may impact your trip.

Construction crews need to close the westbound I-80 entrance ramp at the 1st Avenue interchange (exit 242) as they prepare to construct the new westbound I-80 interchange ramp. The closure will start on Tuesday, April 2 and last until mid-June weather permitting.

During this closure you’ll follow a marked detour route by traveling east on I-80 to Dubuque Street (exit 244) and then get onto westbound I-80 (see map).

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
