Eastbound Iowa 122 west of Mason City to close on Monday, April 8

MASON CITY, Iowa – April 3, 2024 – If you drive on eastbound Iowa 122 on the west edge of Mason City you need to be aware of an upcoming bridge replacement project that may impact your trip.

Beginning on Monday, April 8, until mid-October, weather permitting, crews will close eastbound Iowa 122 between Lark Avenue and Eisenhower Avenue to through traffic for the bridge replacement.

While eastbound Iowa 122 is closed, you will follow a marked detour route by traveling south on Lark Avenue for one mile, east on 255th Street/19th Street Southwest for another mile, and then returning to Iowa 122 on Eisenhower Avenue. During this project you will be able to access businesses along Iowa 122 between Lark and Eisenhower avenues while traveling in either direction.

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
