Overnight closure of eastbound I-80 between Grand Prairie Parkway and Jordan Creek Parkway scheduled for Wednesday, April 17

CRESTON, Iowa – April 9, 2024 – If you drive on eastbound Interstate 80 between Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) and Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121) you need to be aware of upcoming nighttime construction work that may impact your trip according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston construction office.

Beginning at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, until 4 a.m. Thursday, April 18, weather permitting, crews will close eastbound I-80 so sign trusses can be removed.

When eastbound I-80 is closed and work is taking place, you will follow a marked detour route using Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118), University Avenue, and Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121) to reach eastbound I-80.

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
