Eastbound I-80 entrance ramp at the 1st Avenue interchange in Coralville will close on Monday, June 3

DAVENPORT, Iowa – May 30, 2024 – If you drive on eastbound Interstate 80 near 1st Avenue (exit 242) in Coralville you need to be aware of construction work for the new I-80 and 1st Avenue interchange that may impact your trip.

Beginning on Monday morning, June 3, until mid-August, weather permitting, crews will close the eastbound I-80 entrance ramp at 1st Avenue (exit 242) so they can reconstruct the eastbound interchange ramp. While this ramp is closed you will follow a marked detour route using westbound I-80 to reach Coral Ridge Avenue (exit 240) and eastbound I-80 (see map).

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
