Tell us what you think about a proposed pavement rehabilitation project on Iowa 21 in Poweshiek County


AMES, Iowa – August 16, 2024 – Tell us what you think about the proposed pavement rehabilitation project on Iowa 21 in Poweshiek County (Event # 6107).

As part of this project, Iowa 21 will be rehabilitated beginning at Iowa 85 and continuing north to 420th Avenue. This project includes milling 1” pavement and adding a 5” concrete overlay with 4’ wide asphalt shoulders.

Construction will take place starting in the spring of 2025 and be completed by the fall of 2025.

Traffic will be maintained for the first stage of the project. For the second stage of the project, a detour is necessary. The detour route will utilize Interstate 80, U.S. 63, and Iowa 85.
