Eastbound I-74 entrance ramps at U.S. 6/Spruce Hills Drive/Kimberly Road will close on Friday, Sept. 6

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Sept. 3, 2024 – If you travel on eastbound Interstate 74 you should be aware of upcoming ramp and lane closures that could slow down your trip, according to the Iowa DOT’s Davenport construction office.

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, until 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, weather permitting, crews will close the eastbound I-74 entrance ramps at the U.S. 6/Spruce Hills Drive/Kimberly Road interchange in Davenport so repairs can be made to the Duck Creek and Middle Road bridges.

You should also expect delays on eastbound I-74 as it will be reduced to one lane between 53rd Street (exit 1) and Lincoln Road in Bettendorf.

During the ramp closures, you will travel on a marked detour route that uses eastbound Kimberly Road and eastbound Middle Road to reach eastbound I-74 (see map).

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
