Northbound U.S. 75 on-ramp at U.S. 20 in Sioux City will be closed for four hours on Wednesday, Oct. 2

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Sept. 30, 2024 – If you use the U.S. 75 northbound on-ramp from U.S. 20, in Sioux City you need to be aware of upcoming construction work that may slow down your trip.

The Iowa Department of Transportation needs to close the northbound U.S. 75 on-ramp in Sioux City from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, weather permitting, so crews can set up a crane to move an existing light tower from the east to west side of the ramp.

While work is taking place portable message signs, and a marked detour route will assist you in getting around the work zone.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
