AMES, Iowa – Jan. 8, 2025 – Tell us what you think about the proposed bridge replacement on U.S. 65 over the West Fork Cedar River in Cerro Gordo County (Event # 6366).
Proposed Improvements Include:
- Removing and replacing the existing bridge.
- Re-align South 120th Street to accommodate new bridge.
- Reconstruct approach pavement.
- Update guardrail to current standards.
Traffic will be staged in two phases during the project. Thru traffic will be maintained through the first phase of the project, and then maintained via an off-site detour through the remainder of construction. Construction is expected to start in the spring of 2026 and end in the fall of 2026.
