AMES, Iowa – Dec. 10, 2024 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved $8,621,060 in total funding for 35 separate projects from Iowa’s Traffic Safety Improvement Program. The program was created in 1987 for the purpose of increasing traffic safety on all of Iowa’s roadways. AMES, Iowa – Nov. 12, 2024 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved $3,523,206 for nine State Recreational Trails Program projects. The State Recreational Trails Program was created in 1988 with the purpose of developing and maintaining recreational trails and trail-related facilities for both motorized and non-motorized trail users.
