Project description

The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input for a proposed replacement of the U.S. 169 bridge over Black Cat Creek, 4.2 miles north of U.S. 18, in Kossuth County. The project includes replacing the existing 80’ x 30’ steel I-beam bridge with a three span, 188’ 10” x 40’ prestressed beam bridge. New bridge approaches would be constructed as well as new guardrails installed.

Construction of the project is expected to begin in 2022.

Through traffic on U.S. 169 would be detoured during construction using Kossuth County Roads B-30, P-30, and B-19. For more information, see the website listed below.
