Visual Representation of Proposed STA Formula & Corrected Transition Illustration
Visual Representation of Proposed STA Formula
At the STA formula proposal presentation held in conjunction with IPTA’s legislative day on February 23rd, M.J. Broomfield asked for a visual of the proposed formula as opposed to the narrative description that had been included in the handouts. That visual representation has been prepared and is attached.
Corrected Transition Illustration
After the February 23rd presentation a couple of systems noticed that the FY06 projection shown in the transition illustration varied slightly from the final STA projections that were issued at the end of December. This was the FY04 stats I input into my alternatives worksheets were based on what was available at the time of the November 29th IPTA meeting. I forgot to go back and update everything to reflect the 4-5 changes that took place between then and the issuance of the final numbers December 27th, so all calculations were based on the earlier numbers. Since that was brought to our attention, I have updated all the worksheets. I am attaching a corrected transition illustration—note that there are slight changes in the figures resulting from both the existing formula and the proposed formula. Unfortunately, Randy Zobrist, who was the first to notice the problem is the one who sees the biggest change, saw his last two years of the transition turn red in the illustration.
Hopefully these items will be helpful in understanding the proposal. Please remember that we will be holding another discussion of it here at the DOT complex on Monday, March 28th. That session will be held in our East Materials Conference Room and will start at 10am. The easiest way to get to the East Materials Conference Room is to park in the part of our lot over toward HyVee and enter our main building via the Materials Lab entrance (directly south from the main enterance). Once you get in the building take the hallway to the right and the Conference Room is straight ahead. For anyone who came to our formula discussion session last August, this is the same room.
