The Iowa DOT’s Office of Public Transit statewide ITS grant has more than $600,000 available for reprogramming to other eligible ITS projects. The Office of Public Transit is making these funds available to all transit systems for eligible projects. This funding requires a 50 percent nonfederal match and an authorizing resolution committing the match must accompany each application. Project applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible projects are, but not limited to, various ITS-related hardware and software products, communication equipment, computer-assisted dispatch, automated client billing, automated vehicle location systems, electronic fare box, etc.
Application materials may be found on the Office of Public Transit’s website at http://www.iowadot.gov/transit/applications.html#cf. Each project approved for funding must be obligated within six months after contract issuance or the contract will be cancelled.
